Guardian Angels

Feast of the Guardian Angels

The Catechism of the Catholic Church (para 336) speaks of angels, telling us “From its beginning until death, human life is surrounded by their watchful care and intercession.  Beside each believer stands an angel as protector and shepherd leading him to life.  Already here on earth the Christian life shares by faith in the blessed company of angels and men united in God.”

The Mass readings Exodus 23:20-23 and Matthew 18:1-5, 10 speak of God sending “an angel before you to guard you” and that for the “little ones” their “angels in heaven are continually in the presence of my Father in heaven.”
